Reindeer Feeding and Sami Culture - Short tour

Looking for a shorter reindeer tour in Tromsø? This family-friendly Arctic adventure combines hands-on reindeer feeding with an authentic introduction to Sami heritage.

Your journey begins with a 10:15 AM departure from Tromsø city center. Enjoy a scenic drive to our camp in the beautiful valley of Breivikeidet, surrounded by spectacular fjords, forests, and snow-covered mountain peaks. Along the way, take in some of Northern Norway's most breathtaking landscapes.

Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by a Sami guide who will share fascinating stories about Sami culture and daily life in the Arctic. Learn about traditional clothing, spirituality, tools, reindeer herding practices, family traditions, and customs that have been passed down through generations.

Inside a traditional Sami lavvu (tent), you'll gain unique insight into one of Europe's oldest Indigenous cultures before heading out to meet our reindeer herd.

Step into the reindeer enclosure and meet up to 100 friendly reindeer eagerly waiting for their morning feed. Feed them by hand or from a bucket, take memorable photos, and observe these remarkable Arctic animals in their natural environment while surrounded by stunning winter scenery.

Throughout the tour, your guide will be on hand to answer questions and ensure you have an engaging and memorable experience.

Meeting point and time:

Pick up is at 10am in Prostneset at the bus terminal; the bus will depart at 10.15am

Look for a guide wearing a blue Luhkka (traditional Sami poncho).
